butt crack at church

I never thought I'd write that, but then again, I never thought I'd see it at church either. A teenager in front of us was wearing sweats. He kept pulling them down to reveal his underwear. When we stood to sing a song at the end of service I was treated to at least 2 inches of crack. He quickly readjusted is clothing but it was too late. sigh

(Thank God HE loves us, poor clothing choices and all !!)

Last November you blogged about the Christian Alliance for Orphans. The CAO Orphans Summit IV conference in Florida is coming up May 1-3. (see www.christianalliancefororphans.org) A good friend of mine with a small Christian foster/adoption agency here is attending -- I'm so jealous !! People really need to blog about this . . . do you know anyone who is going? -- Rachel

Hi Dawn -- I gather from your blog that you are in Special Ed? That's a tough job -- I have 2 friends who are SE teachers, and they pour themselves out daily. Are you married with kids? I have a heart for mission work also -- right now I am involved with providing a little respite for Christian adoptive and foster families here. These kids do NOT need to go back into foster care and face even steeper odds of finding permanency -- but sometimes their families REALLY need a break !! A good friend of mine started an agency to help AIDS orphans in Swaziland, so your posts on Africa are very interesting. Overwhelming, really, the needs in this sin-ridden world of ours. (Help me Lord to encourage just ONE child today toward the adulthood God has for him or her.) I am married to a wonderful engineer-type and we are both active at church. Also we have 3 kids (one adopted from China) and we homeschool -- some days more successfully than others . . . Rachel

Hi Rachel, I do not know anyone who is going to the conference. I am a spec. ed teacher who is married to a 5th grade teacher. My dh and I do not have any children. We tried to adopt for a few years and are recently pursuing it again. Thanks for checking out my blog.
